Plenty of people say there are good reasons for owning suv's. Just as many others say there are no good reasons. If someone buys an suv and can pay for the gas, do they deserve to be insulted in today's society? Do sites like fuh2.com have a point? Do people really think that large suv drivers are disrespecting our military in Iraq? What are your thoughts on this subject?

No, they're paying the most "tax" right now.

every gallon has about 50-75 cents in state, local, & federal taxes added.

it's PART of the reason supplies are tight-not ALL of it.

I just had this discussion yesterday with customers trading their Tahoe for an Expedition [ 0% financing X 72mo's , by the way ]
They tow a camper & have kids , They NEED this size vehicle
People buy/drive the vehicle that suits their individual needs-desires-budgets and that has nothing to do with disrespecting our military.
The same people also recycle [ do you have any idea how much petroliem is used in plastics! and manufacturing ? ]

I've also sold SUV's to military folks. Ford even gives them a REBATE on a new vehicle.

The people that are pointing the finger at others should be looking in the mirror, instead.
They should stop worrying about what others are doing & do something themselves !

Well you Did ask for my thoughts on the subject .......
I prefer not to listen to the whiners, who complain about everybody else.
I LOVE the people who take responsibility for thier own actions!

If you can show me a vehicle that will pull a 24' trailer and get 40mpg, I will buy FIVE of them!

'till then, I'm forced to buy what's available, and listen to whiners that have no idea what the rest of us require, or why.

No. They presumably have a perfectly good reason for owning one, which may be nothing more than that they like it.
