The Jacket has been washed and not dryed properly recently and now it has a bad odour about it like it is mouldy. I have washed it since then and dried it out properly but it still smells bad. Its only 12 months old.

I have dry cleaned it as the dry cleaners do a special wash for down and feather jackets. The smell is almost gone! Thanks everyone who said dry cleaner. But there is still a hit of it in the jacket. I am thinking that I may have to try the bi carb soda trick. What do you guys think about using something like fre-breeze?

wash it again let the water fill up in the washer and bleach to get rid of the odor, then when it is time to dry it put it in the dryer on low heat and add some tennis balls or a pair of cloth tennis shoes.......these are to keep the down from clumping up.

Try the dry cleaners. Down should never go in the washer

have seen this happen many times. Wash again, spray with frebreez and let hang to dry where it will get lots of air. May need to turn it inside out and let inside dry then turn it right way and let hang out for days. outside is better if you can
