Why Vanessa Ferlito is not showing at CSI New York?

Didn't she get killed off?
I don't watch that CSI, but I remember the previews saying one CSI wouldn't survive and I thought it would be the blond italian guy with glasses, I forget his name, "something" Goivannizzo, or something like that.
But it ended up being Vanessa Ferlito that got offed.

She was killed by the murdering rapist that she was after. although she wasn't still a member of CSI she was trailing him, she left loads of evidence so the CSI could catch him though.
