If you get some file recovery software, you might still have a chance to get it back.

When a file is 'permanently deleted' it isn't actually taken off your hard drive. Its put into a region which tells windows that this is storage space that can be re-written onto. The file recovery software will scout this bit to see if its still there or has been used up already.

It's a 50-50 chance but if its important enough it might be worth a shot.

You can pray, miracles do happen :)

On the other hand after you pray,i think there might be a way..

if you are using windows XP you can restore your computer to the nearest restore point,if the document was saved in your pc at that time, you might be able to get it..

remember to create a new restore point before you roll back to an earlier one...
i hope more people post ways to get your file back..

I've recovered deleted files from a windows machine before. I managed it when the stupid IT team at work couldn't do it!!

But I'm pretty sure you have to have specific software installed to be able to do it.

It's a right click job and then - recover files.

No, not unless you made a backup of it. There are companies that can retrieve it from your harddrive but it is expensive.
