There are lots of books out there.
Playing an instrument, however, is not something you can learn just from a book. You should have a teacher: that person will help you hold the instrument correctly and make sure that you are playing the right notes. (If you're already a musician, then the teacher isn't as important, but I still think it's best to learn from a teacher.) Also, a teacher can recommend supplemental material that might be more interesting than the little ditties in most books. Good luck!

yep..
i saw one book once that a real violint played..
he said it was "the book of violin life".
it has really nice songs. songs from movies, songs and also classic music...

I have no clue. I used to learn it from another individual...he used to teach us classical music...sometimes Carnatic....now ive stopped it altogether thanx to my studies but i still have a soft corner for violins and classical indian music.....
