Hawaiian Tropic Tanning Oil is the very best. ABSOLUTLY.
If you are snow white and you want a rich bronze tan but not TOO dark, I recommend this.
15 minutes in full sun, every day for 4 days.
Then. 30 minutes a day for 1 week.
Then 1 hour a day for 1 week.
Then 3 hours a day, for 1 week.
Then 6 hours a day for 1 MONTH.
This should take about 8 weeks. You don't want to burn too quickly or you will peel and lose the tan you started.
Some tan faster than others. If you see that you tan over night in the first week, then, you can speed it up a little.
By that, I mean, tack on more time every day than I listed here.
I gave you the sensible very careful approach, in case you burn easily.
If you don't burn easily, double the times, I gave you.
Be sure to use the oil. It will speed up the tanning process.
Good LUCK!!
The faster method is the one I have always used.
I am extremely fair but for some odd reason, I don't burn as quickly as my girl friends which are as white as I am.
It's odd. We don't know why, they burn and I don't, when we've been in the sun, the exact same amount of time, together!
On your very first night, press your finger against your skin. Release. If it goes from red to white, quickly, you have had enough sun for that day. Don't push it any faster, until when you do the finger test again, nothing happens.
Then, you're ready to spend longer amounts of time in the sun at a time.
You will be dark, anywhere from 4 to 8 weeks depending on your personal skin type. Not color, oddly enough.
Place WHITE towels or a WHITE sheet under you. The reflection of the sun off of the color white will cause you to tan faster and give you a more beautiful tan. It will be more of a golden tan and will be beautifully even.
The sun reflects the rays all around you, giving you a solid even tan, as if you had gotten it on a beach.
That's my tanning secret, I just gave you.
Drinking lemon juice, grapefruit juice and orange juice also improves the look of your skin. It gives you a glow.
Again, GOOD LUCK!!!
For ethical purposes, I must warn you, because after all, I'm an RN.
Tanning may cause skin cancer.
There. I said it. I must tell you that for the sake of my job.
Nobody EVER accused people in the medical feild of following our own advice.
You should see how many SMOKE! Lol!!!! No kidding! Lol!

It all depends on the color your looking to achieve. If your tanning start tanning for a few hours. But its best to go to the beach a few days out of the week. It will help you get color faster. Oh yea, for lotion use banana boat dark tanning oil. If you burn easily then i wouldnt recommend staying out in the sun too long.

I know and I will tell you since you seem so nice. It takes exactly the amount of time it takes for the sun to tan your skin from white to tan. I can not believe you did not know this. I bet when you loose something and you look for it that it is found in the last place you look.
