I think it's exceptional and the good they're doing with that show is incomparable to what the police could do on their own.
Shame and embarrassment and publicity are sure-fire ways for people to change behavior they don't want the whole world to know about. That's what they do with Johns too... take their picture, get their license number and publicize it. Deadbeat dads too.
Publicity and embarrassment work to hold people accountable and to act as a strong deterrant.
Kudos to them!

I think it's one of the slimiest shows on TV and it's a roaring success and that is, first and foremost, what Primetime cares about most: ratings, getting more viewers. I believe they could do a first-rate program about pedophiles without resorting to these voyeuristic tactics. Let them do an educational show, let them cite examples and statistics and provide information on ways to combat the perversion. Do the stings, but don't televise it. Pedophiles range from just plain, evil, dirty perverts to really sick perverts. They should be arrested; their names should be publicized in neighborhoods where they might live once released. Their lives should be under scrutiny henceforward. But for Heaven's sake, don't add to the shock, grief and embarrassment of the pedophiles' family, friends, and other loved ones who will become known due to this blatant ratings gimmick.

pedophiles? I hate them, with a passion. They're sick. And they generally go for younger children, not teens, so whatever show does "teens" as the victims is a little off, I think. They should be castrated, at least. Or given jail time. With other pedophiles. Then maybe they'd all get too eager and rape each other instead of scarring these innocent children and teens. sorry, I'm a little bitter towards crime in general.

While I certainly don't condone pedophilia I am totally against the way law enforcement lures offenders to them so they can be arrested. It is blatant entrapment as far as I'm concerned. They don't catch bank robbers by leaving sacks of money laying out in the bank's lobby do they? I think it would be much better if parents took control of their children's lives and knew what their kids were doing, where they were, and who their friends are.

I think it's entrapment, however a necessary form because these people need to be embarassed and outted so they realise it's unacceptable in society. In the least, they also need counseling.
