Not if it's done discretely. I don't think it's OK to just plop it out like a baby bottle, because that's just rude. When I used to nurse my baby, hardly any one knew what I was doing.
I don't understand some people's squeamishness about being in the same room when you're nursing, especially when nothing is showing.
I also don't understand why people in the US insist on calling it BREAST feeding. If you called it "nursing", I think there'd be less of a negative reaction from people.

No, I don't usually even think twice about it. After seeing a recent newscast where women that didn't were offended by the US Government ad that stated it was the best thing for your child, I did. I think that woman that cannot because of a medical condition is one thing and that's okay. But women everywhere should sit up and take notice. Even the formula companies agree it is best for your child. That says something. I wish more women would.

Does it make me uncomfortable? no.
Should you use discretion to see it in person? may be
Rules are sketchy, you can, you cant do it in public and then blame others for watching you because you invited attention in the first place...
Either hide in the crowd so nobody can identify you you are just one among many that way you are safe doing it... You can also do many other things like read PLAYBOY and carry around havy books like "WHY THE U.S. is CAPITALISTIC and WHY CHINA IS COMMUNISTIC - POLITICAL THOUGHTS BY JONALD D. FELDMAN" that way when you breastfeed people will think you are kind of economy nerd or something... You can also collect royalties from the books writers because of free advertising....

It doesn't make me uncomfortable, it's just when I notice I try not to look in the general direction cause I'm worried the person will think I'm trying to look at her, but then I'm worried that she'll notice I'm not trying to look and I don't want to make her feel uncomfortable so I glance over everyonce in a while and then usually what happens is she notices me and think I'm perveted then it's like.....oh **** i should have just kept looking away.

No it's a beautiful bonding time between Mother and child.
Actually I think more women should do it but they let vanity and personal comfort come before the health and welfare of their own child. SAD

A Jail visiting room is not the place to do it.
As the mother soon learned.

A bit but I know it shouldn't. It is getting more common and as we see it more we will be more comfortable with it.
