At fourteen a young man is obsessed with "studding", if I may borrow your colorful euphemism. If he is not enjoying himself, it may be he lacks confidence. A lot of young men are shy about their changing bodies and, half-believing their friends' locker-room boasts, embarrassed by their inexperience. He may also suffer from a hair-trigger. Best you sit down and explain to him that sex is really about love, not conquest, and that he needn't be shy about waiting until he's a little older, and until he finds that truly special girl.

I'm sorry . . . . did you really just ask how can you get your son to enjoy STUDDING? Is he a horse? sorry again, I just had to laugh. But seriously, make it fun for him, build in rewards and use those to motivate him for studying. Also, no dinner till HW is done is sometimes helpful, as is no playtime. Quiz him at the end so you know he does not rush it. Studying is always boring unless it is something you are very interested in. Thus, find a way to make it interesting. I'm not saying be overly harsh and strict, i'm just saying make sure he has expectations that override fun. Be consistent and if he works hard, give him extra playtime afterwards or a treat, but make sure he knows that this is not a negotiation or that there is anyway out of this (like leaving it at school) Come on, you are in control, you have to show him that doing your best work should take priority over fun time.

I hope you mean to STUDY? Because most fourteen year old boys have enough hormones to stud on there own. But seriously. Encourage him to read about things he enjoys. And try to apply those to the things he needs to study. Also incentives seem to work.
