I got burned on my finger and I now have a blister. Should I pop it? what else can I do to alleviate the pain?

Don't pop it. The fluid is called "serous" fluid and it is creating new cells to heal the would. If you pop it you're opening it up for infection. If it should pop, put antibiotic ointment such as polysporin, or bactroban on it with a bandaid.

Don't pop the blister as you're more likely to end up with a scar if you do. Putting aloe on a burn can help it hurt less, as can Neosporin + Pain Relief, or any other first aid antibiotic that has pain reliever in it. You can also take the over the counter pain reliever (ex. Tylenol, Advil, Motrin, etc.) of your choice.

Actually you should not pop it as it could become infected. The puss on the inside is actually a way for your body to fight the infection. Let it go down on it's own, If it pops don't peel it it could leave a scar. Also don't cover it, it takes longer to heal that way. Just let it go down and keep it clean and dry. Burn Cream helps too.

don't pop the blister, or else you introduce infection to the area. allow for the blister to pop on its own. cover it with dressing and place ice on the area to alleviate the pain...10 minutes then off for 20, and continue this until you feel relief. about a year ago i got a burn in my crotch area, and that was the worst pain i felt in my life...i had the ice pack on the area for several hours straight. i don't recommend this, i felt so much pain i couldn't help it. the blister popped on its own and the doctor peeled away the skin from the raw part, and i died. when this happens you need to put an ointment that prevents infection like polysporin, and then wrap up your finger again. keep the ice on to feel relief.

Let it pop on its own. Just put a bandaid over it, so you do not come up with an infection. It will heal better and faster this way!!

I would not pop anything. Let it go on its own.
