It should be banned everywhere. Sorry to all the smokers out there, but second hand smoke is disgusting and really bad for everyone. I hate going places like a park, or even around my college campus and being hit with a wall of smoke every few minutes.

NO! I'm sorry but I've been pushed far enough! If I'm in a well ventilated area(out side) I should be allowed to smoke! However, for you non smokers, I don't like exiting a building and being hit by that wall of smoke either. As far as this second hand smoke sh**, I personally think it's a bunch of hype. I'm 59 yrs. old. My mother is 87. She is in good health considering her age. She is 5'2". She and my father smoked since before I was born. My 2 brothers both weighed just over 10 lbs. at birth and I weighed 91/4 lbs. If second hand smoke is sooo deadly why aren't I, or my brothers, dead? It's said smoking contributes to low birth weight. Smoking at the park or the beach ect. should not be band however if they leave their butts behind they should be fined for littering, They should be just as aggressive to clean up the air pollution given off of manufactures, industrial areas, and our beloved automobiles. Forty years ago a man had modified his car to run on pure grain alcohol. His modification consisted of boring out the holes in his carburetor to be just a little larger. Why can't the highly paid engineers at G.M., Ford, ect. figure this out and stop our dependency on foreigner oil? The End.

Oh, the inhumanity.....
I do not smoke, and I have never smoked. I hate smoking. Still, it seems very unfair to say people can't smoke anywhere except in their homes. Very rarely (truly, I can't remember a time ever) have I really been bothered by secondhand smoke outside. Most people are very polite about not inflicting their smoke on others. I have, however, witnessed several times when non-smokers have verbally assaulted smokers who weren't even in range of the said non-smoker, just because they don't like to see people smoking. I have also seen several times when smokers going into the smoking room at work have been harrassed by the non-smokers to not go in that room. I say, "Mind your own business!"

No, thats the same thing as making laws against passing gas in public places. If you really want to help, insist that the manufacturers use only premium tobacco and paper because there are tobacco blends that do not stink up the place.

No. Some of the studies done on smoking and second hand smoke have been misleading as well.

The government is already too deep in our everyday lives. What do you want them to control next?

In your own house, in other people's houses, where it's allowed by the owners, and outdoors.
