Ideally, it would be great to have both, but which would you rather have? If you have courage/strength to act, but no wisdom, you may make foolish decisions and act rashly. But all the wisdom in the world means nothing if it can't be used to help others.

Anyone?

bluffylee, I have NO idea what you're talking about.
One thing I should mention: Knowledge/education shouldn't be confused with wisdom. You can have 5 PhD's and not an ounce of common sense. Knowledge is the accumulation of information; wisdom is knowing how best to USE that knowledge. I know that we need to have both, but perhaps I could've stated the question better. If you had the wisdom, then you would be somehow unable to share that wisdom (ie: in a country where the truth of that wisdom is persecuted, and you are paralyzed by your fear or your inability to act). If you had strength and courage, then you have the crowd's ear, you have the passion and fortitude to be one that history books are written about...but you are anable to wisely decide what direction you should lead people in. Each "superhero" has his kryptonite. Which, if you had the choice, would you want?

well it depends. Having wisdom would probably be having virtue and intellect too. wisdom is already a sign of strength itself and courage is just self-willingness. Having just wisdom and knowing what should be done is already having courage and strength in deciding on what needs to happen, its just about making it happen. But if a wise person decides to act upon something- what difference does it make if they have courage/strength or not? because if they were wise enough, they would do it anyway.

I think in this day and age, you need both. You need courage/strength to make things happen, but how can you without the knowledge of what needs to be done? It's true that without wisdom that one could act irrationally, but with the former, you can't stand up for your beliefs. Personally, I feel that I'd rather have strength/courage because there have been numerous times in my life that I have not stood up for myself and what's been right. You can always increase your wisdom by furthering your education, and learning new traits and skills. I find it harder to retrain the brain to take chances and risks in life.

I had always thought that operation was more important than design because operation creates the stuff.
Design is only a thought and creates only ideas and blue prints.

But now (I am 42) I know that design (wisdom) is more important than operation (courage/strength).
1) Executive Managers and architects are paid more than operational managers and construction foremen.
2) It takes higher study and experience to gain wisdom - designing skill.
3) Wisdom, Design, Ideas can be patented, where as operational experience only sharpens your skills.
4) If you have wisdom, you can possibly learn the skill to operate. But if you only have operational skill. Your wisdom is confined to the operations skills you have mastered.
5) Operation is limited, takes all the time in the world, very often erroneously executed. Wisdom is unlimited, takes less time to execute but it is more critical.

Note : Bad wisdom is worse than bad operation.

Well wisdom of course, if I have the wisdom to know what should happen, then I would have the wisdom to know what I have to do to get the courage and strength to make things happen

One does not need wisdom, courage or strength to help others. Your inner self is your desire to help others.
You can have eveything on this earth and if you do not desire to assist others, what's the point?

Neither is 'better" than the other! They go hand in hand... The problem is, is that far too many people think they are something seperate. "Normal" people DO have and use both!
