since ur friend is more affectionate to u , u should not hurt him i think.
dont tell in the harsh manner. y cant u ask ur another friend to convey this message to him.or else in a nice occasion u tell this in a very soft manner in such a sense he should understand that u are not considering him as the best of urs plzzzz.
friendship is temporary one. who may know?after a certain period u may also fel that u like him more. if u tell him in a hard manner now then in the future u may not get him i mean u will definitely miss ur good friend. tats y i am advicing u to be more softer in conveying this mssg to him ra

For the love of God and everything good just tell him out right and dont worry about his feelings because if your not outright you could be blamed for leading him on so just tell him and dont let him sucker you in with the woes is me's .
ps : he only your friend to weasle into the doing you department .

this is one of the most difficult situation where the girls are likely to be in. but there is one way out. if he hadn't propose you directly then divert his attention to other things in life but indirectly. and if he has propose you then try to show how different you are from him. you two make more sense only if you remain as friends and tell him that friends are for ever. this relationship is more than any affair where lots of conditions are applied but in friendship no conditions are needed and added. tell him that there is love in friendship but no friendship in love.

The sooner you tell him the better. The longer you wait the harder it will be. Just open your mouth and tell him. say something like this...".we can only be friends......sorry, but I am not feeling the same thing you are"

just tell him frankly that , you don't want to cross your limits and just clear the misunderstanding of that guy,whatever he think about you, just don't be to serious on this topic , if this topic is getting very seriously than talk to your mom , she will help you out.
