the only way for peace to exist in the middle east is when the day comes that all muslim mothers love their child more than they hate a jew.

....i don't see jewish mothers receiving gifts from jewish organizations/governments for sending their jewish sons into crowded muslim plazas and blowing themselves up with dynamite belts.

Blaming women for war??? Seems pretty far fetched considering the oppression of women in Muslim countries.
Seems to me that it should be reworded to 'all MEN love their child....." !!!!!!

This is a horrible thing to say about muslim mother's and shows a total lack of sensitivity. To begin with while they are muslim's; we are talking about Palestinians and what they in general face. I agree with Nadia who stated that the Palestinians do not have an army unlike Israel who not only has an army but the support of many powerful nations amongst which is the US. If Israel had its way the Palestinians would have no right to defend themselves with anything more than rocks. Moreover, while many refer to those who would commit suicide to defend their cause as terriorist; they refer to themselves as martyrs or patriots. Do you think an American or Israeli mother is any less proud to have her son or daughter defend what they believe in? Does she want them to die? No, but it is a realistic possibility when one is sent into a war zone. The only difference for many Palestinians is that they can't arm themselves to the teeth and go in as troops of men with a better chance that most or some returning home without being killed - at least not without the assistance of other nations who are sensitive to their plight. And American mother's (and most Israeli) can sit in the comfort of their homes with considerably more confidence that if bombs go off it won't be in their livingrooms. Palestinian women aren't just concerned about the son that is willing to sacrifice his life; she has to worry about herself and the rest of her family that all too often are no safer than the son. People who say these kinds of things need to walk in the other's shoes and see if their perspective isn't somewhat changed. I don't have to do that because I don't have a vested interest in wearing blinders and can therefore see that what is going on in the middle east is deplorable both for Israel and the Palestinians. All I know is that casting dispersions on one group to justify and defend the equally deplorable actions of the other is wrong.

That is a pretty messed up comment. I have heard worse on this site though. People think they can say anyting on the internet. Things they dare not say in real life. Just another glimpse into the minds of others, a sometimes a dark and scary place.

Palestians don't have a real army so bloing themselves up is their only way of fighting
That's the reason why you don't see tese things as often in the Israel camp : israelis have an army, a pretty good and rich army. They have other means of fighting you see, but their means are jsut as bad, and even more killing

Who made this statement? It would have to include fathers also as they rule the roost in that culture. That would be a good policy for all cultures and then maybe the world start to be a more loving place.

my comment is it takes two to tango... maybe it should read "all muslim and israeli mothers love their child more than they hate each other"...
and also, odds are pretty good mothers have very little to do with it. fathers are usually the bigger problem in this respect.
