yah i know the Hezbollah are the most horrible people. but still an all out rocket warefare is going to get many many killed. if Israel kept its cool then maybe some covert ops coulda done the job more successfully and safely.

Israel did not "go to war"! The Arab countries surrounding Israel have been waging a gorilla war against Israel ever since they lost the 1967 war that they started. After they lost that war in 6 days,
they realized they could not win a regular war against Israel. By the way, Syria and Jordan have been in a state of war with Israel since 1967. They wanted a "cease fire" after they saw they were losing but would never agree to state that Israel had a right to exist, so no peace treaty was possible.

The Arab countries have stepped up their attacks on Israel, so it has been necessary for Israel to more vigorously defend it self.

It is all well and good to say that "war is never the answer", but what is Israel supposed to do except defend itself when the Arab countries around it continue to attack it and try to destroy it?

I agree with Israel.

Israel pulled out of Lebanon in year 2000 and Hezbollah killed already 12 soldiers and 20 citizens. Israel have to remove the Hezbollah organization before it will kill more Israeli people

I'm sorry but I think all the unrest in the middle east is a bunch of BS. I think the UN should issue a resolution to know it off of the whole region is gunna get nuked and the whole problem would be solved. And as for the other countrys trying to develope nukes such as North Korea same kinda deal... knock it off or the rest of the world will be comming to take over.

I think it's a little more complicated than that. Who threw the first punch? Who pushed who over the line? Whose fault is all the unrest and animosity and hate in the Middle East? Who is the downtrodden and who is the oppressor, who is committing the terrorism, who wil not commit to peace? Whose idea was it to kidnap Israeli soldiers, and what did they think would happen? Did this war only just now start, or has it been going on for years and years? Please don't try to simplify this situation. It's not as simple as some would have you believe.

War is stupidity itself. Neither contestant has calculated the results of their stupid game. Once I believed in the principle "survival is for the stronger"; now I think I was wrong. in our chaotic world, survival is for the mindful and reasonable. War is not an exploration venture, but it is either you win or lose. I enter the war for what cause? Is the cause mine or someone's else who imposed it on me. I die because "they" want to live. How many people were killed for our genius leader to show on TV to declare that "Our youth, young people are educated (but not trained) to die, because if they did not fight they would die (guess in what way) but they would not go to Paradise because they disobeyed our teaching, but if they kill themselves and others or enter the war disregarding their efficiency to manage it , sure they will not die as they will go to Paradise directly, simply because they obeyed God and his prophet and his messenger ........
How stupid I am .....

Retaliation, swift and horrific, is the best way to stop deaths in the future. Make your enemy understand you are going to respond lethally to any attack no matter how costly and your enemy may think twice about continuing the conflict.
