Are they still as good as ever? I haven't heard them lately.

I totally agree that Steve Perry IS Journey, but they still tour as Journey even without him, don't they?

Steve's 1 in a million, irreplaceable!

Yeah, Journey's on tour right now (co-headlining with Def Leppard) with a replacement for the replacement. Steve Perry left in 1998 I believe (he may have been fired), Steve Augeri replaced him. Now Steve Augeri has some kind of chronic throat infection, and Jeff Scott Soto is singing.

"we sailed on together; we drifted apart; but here you are by my side...so now I come to you in OPEN ARMS"

Doesn't ever man wish he could sing like Steve Perry?

I love Journey. They are not my favorite band, but I dig 'em. I was glad that VH1 voted "Open Arms" the #1 love ballad of all time. I agree that it is.

The new dude sounds almost like Steve, but not quite...but, then again, no one will ever. I am going to see them in a few weeks. They are out on tour right now.

I was fortunate enough to see Steve whenever he came back for a short stint a few years back. His voice is amazing. Only Meatloaf can compare to his vocal ability.

Thanks for the post!

well i'm going to see them next month. but i have heard augeri sing and it's kind of similar but it's just not the same without perry, in my opinion steve perry is and always will be the voice of journey.plus i hear that steve augeri cant hit the high notes like in open arms.
