They are surrounded by water in the womb, there is no way your baby will drown in your wives womb.
Even newborn babies can swim, its a natural instinct. This is why women can have "water births"
I went swimming many times while pregnant, there is nothing to worry about!

Since this is baby #1 if it will make you fill better . call your wife's doctor. and tell the doctor about your concerns . But be prepared the doc will most likely ask you to repeat the question . Or chuckle a little. That baby is more safer now than you are . I am a mother of 4 the oldest is 30 yrs old . And i am of the grandmother of 9 . 8 of which i help bring in this world. The baby will not drown.Let your wife cool of if you could only imagine what she changes that baby is taking her threw right now .And how she feels especially with it being so hot now.Now take a deep breath. And go and enjoy your day with your wife .

Your fears are unfounded. Your wife should have explained to you how babies are protected inside the womb until birth. The baby is protected by a surrounding of amniotic fluid and is fed and breaths through the cord attached to the womb wall. At the entrance to the womb is a "plug" which also protects anything from entering or exiting until the "plug" pops either just before or after contractions start. Both of you go swimming together and congratulations on your first to be born daughter.

Not possible for the baby to drown it lives 9 months in fluid. Don't worry about it, the baby is the least likely to drown out of the 3 of you...Let her swim as she wishes, it's great exercise for pregnant women.

Your baby is fine unless your wife drowns and even then the baby wouldn't die from drowning. Some women even give birth in a tub of warm water, I guess they say to lessen the shock to the baby at birth.
Good luck, if you are this worried now, you will probably want the birthing room covered in bubble wrap just in case you get a clumsy doctor:>)

Well first the baby cannot drown in the womb unless the mother drowns. The baby is surrounded by amoebic fluid.
You have a computer so I suggest that you use it little more wisely by maybe looking up a few things before you make yourself look dumber than you just did.

There is no possible way an unborn child could drown because the mother is swimming. It's physically impossible, not to mention...the baby is already submerged in amniotic fluid and will be until just before she is born.

Please give me the address of the pool and your time of arrival. I am willing to drive across two states to watch a woman swim with her WOMB above water. Okay, honey, honey sugar lump. Did you know your baby is in FLUID, aka water? Did you know there is something called the MUCUS PLUG that keeps everything out of the womb until the mothers WATER BREAKS? You have nothing to worry about honey. Precious.... go to Borders and read up on pregnancy...then work your way around the store. Knowledge is power.

You should let your wife go swimming. For one nothing will happen to your baby there is many things protecting you child. Also for a pregnant women who can barely get around the pool is the best thing in the world to her. Most hostipals also have a tub for women to get in while they are in labor, not when the baby is coming out, but in labor to help the mother though contractions
