As long as both people are over 18 years of age, then the difference doesn't matter!!

Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte once developed a simple calculation for such situations. Take the male person's age, say 28, half it, which is now 14, and add 7, which is now 21. So a 28 Year old male should not date women younger than 21, for example. another example is a 50 year old woman, minus 7 years equals 43, times by 2 equals 86, so a 50 year old woman should not be romantically involved with a man older than 86.

Hope this has helped.
Peace

Well, my grandparents were 16 years apart and loved eachother deeply until her death. Things were different then.
My younger sister married a 33 y/o at the age of 20. He wanted a young "hottie" because he never wanted to grow up. She wanted what she thought would be an easy way out from Mom and Dad and thought an older guy would provide security. She grew up, he never did. They're divorced now and the kids (that he admittedly never wanted---too much responsibility) suffer because of their lousy choices.
Age doesn't NECESSARILY mean everything, but it can be an indication of something deeper between one or both of them. (BTW...a guy flashing $100 bills doesn't mean he's rich...but it probably DOES mean he doesn't have a bank account or at the very least is making up for some sort of insecurity)
Not saying big age differences are the death of a relationship, but it sure won't make things easy a ways down the road.
Best of luck to you!

If age is just a number, why do we have laws against statutory rape?

You should seek someone around your own age, otherwise a long term relationship will be very unlikely. Imagine being young and sexy, while your partner is getting really wrinkly and saggy.

It's just not natural. You might have an "open mind" about it, but you won't see very many couples together for a long time with big age differences. I have an open mind too, but I don't go dating people my mother's age. That won't last past a month or two.

Age isn't the important thing as long as there is a connection and of course both partners are mature enough to deal with the issues that a serious relationship involves

up to 1/2 of the age of the younger partner so at 18 maybe 9 years and at 40 maybe 20 years. but not for a 16 year old to date a 40 year old in my opinion

That completely depends on the people. I married someone 22 years older than me. He is a fine man, but didn't get what I liked, why I liked it, and we didn't have many friends. His friends wives and I had nothing in common. My friend's husbands seemed like kids to him.

I used to think age was just a number. It's more than that, believe me. If you're in your teens, I'd say a couple years, max. 20's or beyond, probably 5 or 6 max. But it really does depend on the people.

Any age as long as they are both adults.

My first husband was my age. My second husband was 5 years younger. My third husband was 11 years younger. And no, there isn't going to be a fourth husband. Fifteen years younger is just too much age difference in my opinion, and guys my age are all old farts.

There is no age when it comes to actual love. I use the word actual, because some children, IE 14, 15, years old think they are in love with someone older. but in actual romantic love relationship, there is no age limit.
