Assuming 1 sf = 1 square foot:
1 square foot = how many square meter?
1 inch = 2.54 cm
1 meter = 100 cm
1 foot = 12 inch
1 foot = 12 inch * 2.54 cm/inch * 1 m/100 cm = 0.3048 m
1 square foot = 1 ft^2 = 1 ft * 1 ft
1 ft^2 = (1 ft * 0.3048 m/ft) * (1 ft * 0.3048 m/ft) = 0.09290304 m^2

One Square Foot I presume.
One Foot is 12 inches. One inch 2.54 cm. So 1 SF = 12 x 12 Sq. Inches = 144 Sq. Inches.
1 Sq Inch = 2.54 x 2.54 cm = 6.4516 sq. cm.
1 metre = 100 cm. 1 sq metre = 100 x 100 sq. cm = 10,000 sq cm. Which implies 1 sq. cm = 10E-4 sq. metre
Therefore 1 sq. foot = 144 x (6.4516 x 10E-4) sq. m = 9.2903 E (-2) OR 0.092903 Square Metres.

You should compare square meters with square yard as yards and meters are so close in length.
1 yard = 36 inches and 1 meter is close to 39 inches
1 inch = 2.54 cm = 0.0254 meters
36 inches = 0.9144 meters
so 1 square yard = 0.83612736 square meters
