My kids are 20 and younger, and I keep them up on the news. If I didn't, they wouldn't have a clue. When I was their age, I didn't care about the news either. And even though I'm over 20, I'm not "nobody", and I only get the news on the radio & online because all the other news is either OLD or a SHOW.

Gotta keep up with current events 24/7. I like to watch the news on tv or I'll read the newspaper on the internet. I like to know whats going on around me, if there is a potenial danger or if I can help out someone in need in anyway. I only like listening to music on the radio, but I do pay attention to amber alets when those are put on the radio music airways

I also just like seeing whats going on and being able to start a convo with someone I don't know about what I seen on the news becuase they may have seen it on the news also.

I do. However, not as much as I used to. **** is so predictable. When I do pick up the paper I'm never shocked. It's always, "I told you so." Besides, you really can't escape the news. It's everywhere, papers, internet, tv, cellphone, radio, anything worth mentioning will get thru to you. I just read the Economist.

If you spend all your time with the news you'll soon find yourself apart of it because you'll have gone ******* nuts and found reason to just go on a murderous rampage! They should put an inscription on the papers "reader beware: what you're about to read is some crazy **** and it might cause you to do something just as lunatic!"

Well, I am past 20 now, but when i was under 20 i did all the time, I tend to watch it less now because the media is obsessed with only reporting the bad things, and hardly ever good thing. A lot of good happens in the world, and if you get your worldview from the media, then you don't get a chance to see it.

Yes, I find staying current with events around the world is not only informative but entertaining. Sometimes it is depressing though, but you cant just pretend that it's not happening. If you have knowledge you can choose to make a difference in the world, one person at a time.
