When I was a kid, some people said that they can tap on a table on a quiet evening and get a response back from spirits.

I've never heard of that, but it sounds interesting, a friend of mine has what she calls a "knocking table" it didn't look like much, then, 4 of us sat around it, it looked like a small coffee table, we only put 2 fingers on it each, and then she asked questions and the thing started moving all around, it was the weirdest thing i've ever seen....good luck on your quest :)

I've never heard of table tapping..There is however the practice of table-tipping. It's supposed to be one way of communicating with spirits. You are supposed to stand around a table with just a couple of fingers on it and ask questions. The spirit is then supposed to move, shake,or tip the table to answer the questions. I've seen it done, but don't know how strongly I believe in it.

Some people believe that good spirits reside in wood.Hence the term knock on wood. They knock on wood to wake up the good spirits so they can protect them.I personally enjoy praying to the good spirits, the father the son and the holy ghost.
