intake or no intake?

I have a 2000 jeep cherokee, would a K&N cold air intake be worth the money to give me better mpg or should i just get a drop in filter.

Just get the drop in filter. The gains for the system are minimal if not negetive considering the cost.

it relatively is an exceedingly solid question...I see various those chilly air intake systems (on ebay extraordinarily) that are no better than a brilliant dip on your wallet. a real chilly air intake will deliver "exterior air" into your intake tube, no longer warm under hood air. various the vehicle manufacturers try this chilly air intaking via ducting into the wheel nicely. you will have seen the classified ads showing no longer something yet a short tube with a clear out on the top drawing warm under hood air into your engine. What a waste....and think of approximately this once you notice a sort of....if it does not usher in cooler exterior air to your inlet tube then it ain't a chilly air intake. Spend your cash the place it is going to do some solid...a ok&N clear out on your inventory airbox is a solid initiate. it isn't the huge stuff that supplies you greater potential (except you have have been given invoice Gates $$) however the small issues that upload up. The only good thing with K&N is that it is cleanable which is maybe a saving if u want to keep the wheels for twenty years.

single most effective way to gain mpg's you ask?
it's not the cold air K&N setup it's much more boring
reduce your speed on the hiway to no more than 55mph.
i may be hard but it works................

k&n filter only incraeses air flow if your engine demands more than the stock specs
