Every day, every hour, every second we come across people including ourselves not counting the blessings we already have which we should be thankful for.WHY???is it something to do with our brain?our heart?our mind?or is it the greed and the need to have something which is not important?

good question... The reason is it's a good thing to want to better yourself and make accomplishments. If we didn't everyone would still be living in caves. it is important to take some time and be thank full ( i believe we have a holiday for this) but not everyone does. I think it is in our DNA. I know some pretty lazy ppl who are content to lay on the couch in their trailer and get a government handout. they seem pretty happy with what they have. thank god I want more.

Humans have brains. And the pesky buggers keep using them
If you believe in God (say, for example the Judeo-Christian-Muslim version) then you must believe that humans were created in God's image. Not physical image, but having the ability to create.
And we keep creating new stuff. Yes, it is true that there are some greedy people out there, who seem to focus on more, more, MORE! But there are also BILLIONS of good decent people who just want to live their lives in peace & happines. So, if you don't like greed --don't be greedy. Live your life as an example of the best that humans can be. Peace.

You probably haven't come across those that are satisfied with their lot yet. You'll be amazed when you do meet them.

Man are never satisfied because they want and they never ask whether do they need it in the first place.

We always seek to improve...the curse of intelligence.

Now, if you own 3 mansions, and want another, that is greed. There is a difference between greed and a natural urge to improve what is around us.

It's truly sad to know people who literally have everything they want, physically, emotionally... But these people are constantly creating drama to draw attention to themselves. Whateve they have, they're not happy, they just need MORE. I wish I knew the answer, but it simply seems to be part of a person's makeup to never enjoy total happiness.

I think it is one of the human instincts put by God as a way to believe that there must exist a place where all our desires and needs are full filled. This place is HEAVEN.

It's called adaptation level theory. Our best meal is only as good as the last best meal we've had, and so is the worst. In order to appreciate we need a better meal (if you don't mind my metaphors.)
