I would have to say because Lord of the Rings has been in circulation for so long. New movies come all every day, which doesn't mean that the Lord of the Rings series wasn't fantastic...but everyone talks about the newest and latest. It's easier to have something exciting to say about something that hasn't been talked about over and over again, in order to do that you've got to talk about something new. =)

It's not that we stopped talking about them it's just that their popularity is in the background at the moment ... I mean, why'd we stop talking about Star Wars until George Lucas started making the new ones.. and my fav character .. Samwise.. he was so loyal and so brave .. he was the truest of them all ...

sorry but to me they were boring and the special effects where very chessy.
