You're quite right. Seems to me you're taking it too literally, though. There are countless problems with the scenario in Road Warrior (like, for example, where do they get their water?)

The Road Warrior is a mass media version of Peter Weir's "The Cars that Ate Paris", which you should see if you get a chance. That movie is all about the breakdown of society in Australia, not really about a post-apocalyptic nightmare.

The worst version of this same story is Kevin Costner's "Waterworld"; it's the same thing as Road Warrior but even more ridiculous. How that guy won an Oscar, I'll never know.

No, Beyond Thunderdome was the third one. The second is called The Road Warrior. The first movie, simply called Mad Max, I believe, is the best of the three. It tells what made Mad Max behave the way he does. The following two went successively downhill.

LOL. That thought crossed my mind too the first time I saw the movie. Got into a argument with someone I was watching it with another time on that subject as they said that the same results could be achieved by braiding your hair ala Bo Derek in 10...I say no way! It would produce a much more poofy look than that gal had on Mad Max.

I love all the Mad Max movies! My crimper ran on a battery. So, maybe the colonies came across and old store that had crimpers and batteries that survived the nuclear explosion.

Shotgun shells also lacking, but plenty of football pads for armor.

Beyond Thunderdome, wasn't it? Tina Turner was in it? Crimping was the style when that movie was made.
