Humming birds can, they can hover too. I would assume it has to do with they are the only ones that can flap fast enough. Other birds have to use their momentum to keep going and would slow down too much trying to shift gears and would fall.

because who ever made birds forgot to give them reverse....aren't you happy that the people who make cars included reverse instead of just drive and park
