I like that site best because it is side-by-side with an English translation.

Let me begin, by underlining "museumsa"'s recommendations. Nearly my entire music library, consists of CDs ripped from those checked out from the local public library. Lotte Lehmann: she was an absolute "enigma". I've read, that she could sing Brunnhilde one day, and Lucia the next with great aplomb. The only recording of hers that I've ever heard, was one of her as the "Marschallin" in "Der Rosenkavalier". Her great talent seems similar to that of Lauritz Melchior; in that - for me at least - the integrity of their interpretation was their greatest asset: which is the best I've ever heard. Other than Placido Domingo and the late, great Pavarotti, there are no great living singers. And I was not a fan of Maria Callas. ((Watch me get "lambasted" for these assertions.)) The following are my suggested soprano candidates, for you to listen to and study. Coloratura: Lily Pons, Roberta Peters Lyric: Eleanor Stebor, Dorothy Kirsten Dramatic: Helen Traubel, and the greatest of them all, Kirsten Flagstad. She had the most beautifully lush voice I've ever heard: absolutely unbelievable. Alberich
