I'm trying to sell an item on e-bay. I would like to know how I will obtain the buyer's address to ship the item once it's sold. Does the buyer tell you his/her address, or does e-bay and ups have a way of shipping the item without sharing the buyer's personal information (address) to the sellet? I'm a bit confused on how you know where to ship an item on e-bay.

You should know this from Ebay Help pages before selling an item.

Once the auction is over, you get the winner's address in an email or the actual auction page itself when it's over. And if they pay by Paypal, they send you the address with the payment email.

to even register with ebay you have to provide all that information. when they pay through the invoice you send their address will be on there or if they pay through pay pal and you get an email saying they paid for it their address will be on there too. also, just an fyi...when you do see their address it may say something like "confirmed address?" all that means is if it's confirmed that is the address their bills and stuff go to and it's usually their street address. however some people don't even try to confirm their address (like me) but it is the right one. also you can't confirm your address if you have a p.o. box. hope that helps good luck
