Babies sleep in utero and sometimes will not move at all or very, very little so that you cannot feel it.
Shortly baby will probably get hiccups or kick you nice and solid in the bladder and you'll be back to feeling fine about it all.
If the baby doesn't move at all for a week or so then speak with the doctor again.
Don't worry though, I am pretty certain all is okay.
Take care

I had stopped feeling my baby move for a little less then 24 hours and it really scared me, so I know how you feel. I would call my doctor back and tell him/her know that Im nervous and see if its possible to come in sooner then my next appointment, even if you cant have an ultrasound atleast hearing and knowing that the heartbeat is normal then you should be able to relax. I called my doctor and she told me to eat something, if I wasnt hungry then try atleast something small and then wait about 30-45 mins and lay on my right side and put my hand on my stomach and see if I feel any movement. I didnt so I was still scared finally I felt it after I had stayed up all night worrying. I was over 25 weeks when I couldnt feel movement so I dont know if it differs with you being at a different time or not. But Like I said I would just call the doctor and see if you would see me to make me feel better, if not you may want to see another doctor because your doctor should be willing to make you comfortable even if he believes that you are fine, and hes probably right. I also know what typically people feel their babies more around 22 weeks so your friends may be right about the baby growing...also if you are a first timer, like me, they say sometimes first time moms mistake something else for what they believe is movement.....any way good luck and Im sure everything is fine.

Chances are you're just more active now. I only feel my twins at night. Sometimes they wake me up when I'm sleeping, this is how I know it. But, keeping busy with the other 5 that I have, they don't move so much throughout the day. I'll get a kick every now and then from one of them if they don't like my position.
Baby has lots of places to roam & hide right now. Sometimes when they're closer to the front of your belly, or in a rib, they're kick is like a jolt to you. But, if they're in a different place it's a little harder to feel them. Lots of cushion in there!
As long as you haven't had any signs of miscarriage, I wouldn't be worried. Signs of miscarriage is bright red bleeding & severe cramping. Most miscarriages happen before the 12th week, so you're already past that road map. Don't worry. You'll be feeling your baby all the time soon enough!

I was always worried when I didn't feel the baby move too. At 18 weeks the baby is still small and movements won't be as noticeable as they will later on. Eat a small meal and lie down for awhile you should be able to feel the baby move around. If not, please don't worry. Baby's are people too, he might just be having a sleepy day. I called my Dr. once because I hadn't notice the baby move all day, he said lay on your back and take a pot and place it on your belly then bang it with a spoon. The noise should wake the baby. LOL!! I know it sounds funny, but it worked.

no its not normal you should probably have testing like NST/AFI . NST is a non stress test that they put a monitor on your belly to listen to the baby's heart beat and AFI is amnio fluid index where they measure the fluid around the baby. Also lots of times we are really busy with our life and don't really pay attention to the baby's movements.I recommend that you eat something and lye on your side, the baby should move at least 10 time within a hour, but if the baby moves 10 in five minutes your done. Remember this time is only for the baby. if your baby does not move 10 time try once more. if this should fail you should go straight to the hospital. also have in mind as you get bigger there's less room for the baby to move but always practice this homework. good luck

Sometimes they get lazy...honestly. If u go any longer than say a couple of weeks...then I would check up with your Dr. again. But, everything should be ok. There were times when I didn't feel my 2 kids move...but then later it felt like they were playing soccer! lol! just keep up with what u feel and let your Dr. know! Good Luck!

i would tell your dr. how worried this is making you and ask to hear the heartbeat, you dont need anymore stress while being pregnant, i am 24 weeks now and sometimes i dont feel her move for 1 or 2 days, i think she is just sleeping. but you need to put your mind at ease. go to the drs. and listen to the heartbeat...its your baby you have the right to do that.

No need to get nervous dear. My son moved for 3 weeks then never moved again. And he is as healthy as can be. Just make sure you keep your appointments so the doctor can keep an ear out for the heartbeat. Good luck

If the dr said you're ok,hopefully, you can trust the dr. They can perform a test where you count how many times the baby moves, but maybe not that soon. Try www.babycenter.com,and enter your info, and it will tell you what to expect for your exact week and gestation stage
