Yep. Book of Revelations is coming true. Even if you don't believe in God, it's kind of creepy.
I don't know what is but the world has lost all of their minds.

More than I can say. To add to your list, we've still got India and Pakistan regularly sabre rattling over Kashmir. And we've got President Bush making a lot of the same comments regarding Iran that he originally made about Saddam Hussein and Iraq (only this time with plans for "bunker buster nukes", as if being the only country every to drop nuclear ordinance in war time isn't good enough, we have to do it AGAIN.)
And back at home in the US, even if all of this other stuff DOESN'T bring us to World War III, we have a spiraling deficit. We owe a significant amount of our national debt to China, who is poised to become the other "superpower" on the block. How much worse would the cold war have been if, along with everything else, the USSR had held massive amounts of our debt? We have a President who has turned near universal good will in the aftermath of 9/11 into ever increasing number of former allies saying "Whoa! Look at the time. I'd love to stay and help you play in Iraq, but I have a thing with a guy..."
We have no friends, we have no plan, we deny global warming and can't even correctly handle a natural disaster *AFTER HAVING RUN A TRIAL RUN ON A VIRTUALLY IDENTICAL SCENARIO ONE YEAR BEFORE*, and pretty soon our cowboy President is going to actually unleash one of these nuclear bunker busters he's having developed, and the rest of the world is going to decide we're no longer the bully on the block, we're now the ultra-villain and can no longer be allowed to continue.
Yes, I'm scared. I'm downright crapping my pants.

Through out the history of man kind, civilizations and countries, there has always been continued political and military trouble. The only deference is that we live in an age and part of the world where we have access to all this information, I am sure the North Korean people are not worried about all the troubles in the world, because they are not aware of them.
As for doomsday, and if its of any consolation to you, think that the Jews have been waiting for it for the past 4000 yrs, and the Christians 2000 yrs. and still we are waiting. We have a better chance of getting hit by a meteorite that will cause a doomsday than by war.

Yes it is unstable - very unstable. First we must start with us. The President has done something that we should never have done, and that is a "strike-first" mentality. Our country was a country of retaliation and prevention of war. No country blamed us of going into Afghanistan and Bin Ladin for 9/11. But for some reason, we went into Iraq for, and I mean this seriously, NO REASON AT ALL. They were not a threat to us. When the President went in, we opened up flood gates for everyone. The next President (someone with intelligence, I hope) needs to take that step back & return to the international peacekeeper he (or she, after all, Hillary is still out there) should have always been, before WWIII occurs.

If it helps some western economies to have a war, they will arrange one! Especially US is really good at it. But only as long as it helps the economy and they can speculate over death and genocide... once it is unprofitable there wont be wars. The industry will ensure this. So will the people who have resources to lose.
Wars happen to poorer people and those without influence. At least that has been the experience post world war II which was the last time Western Safe heavens saw blood. Presently the people in powerful countries are too confident that if there is bloodshed, they will not be effected enmasse so they can afford to lose a few white men in Uniform, while a million others die and it brings greater 'glory' and power to them!

I used to have the same sense of panic, but I look at it differently now.
What I have learned is that there is a political reason all we hear about is the constant threat that we need to be protected from. It keeps the politicians in power. People who are in a state of fear do not make rational, objective decisions. News media know that fear sells, and their ratings/ad revenue hasn't suffered from moving to a model that drops costly investigative reporting and relies exclusively on official and commercial sources (which used to be called propaganda).
Also, it justifies foreign military intervention to protect American business interests overseas. And the ones we don't hear much about, like Africa, are because we have no economic interest there. I'd say that we are smack in the middle of Orwell's 1984.
I recommend you watch the Power of Nightmares series, google video links below (three movies, 60 min each), and then tell me if you still feel the same.
Also, "Orwell Rolls in his Grave" is an excellent movie that every American should see.

I was more concerned when the Soviet Union had their finger on the trigger of thousands of nukes pointed at the US. The stuff going on in Israel and Lebanon has been never ending. I get so tired of it I just toon it out. I remember when Carter tried to get Arafat to sit down with Israel in the 70's. Everyone said there would be peace, yeah right! Korea? Been there done that too. Iran? Remember how they let the hostages go in 80' just before Reagan took the oath of office. He would have flattened them then if they hadn't. Sh i t never changes!

I had a vision of the comedy movie "Airplane" when I read your question. If you've seen it, then you will know what I am talking about. Remember the lady passenger who was going berserk, and was panicking? All the other passengers got in line to slap some sense into that lady and hush her up. Well that's what we should do to you. So just calm down take a deep breath and do try to relax. God bless.

World peace seems unattainable until - or unless - there's a world calamity, such as a meteor colliding into the planet, or an alien invasion from extra-terrestrial, or a world-wide tsunami.
When any of those things happen, human beings will finally find a commonality, and instead of fighting amongst each other, will start fighting to preserve our species of the Earth. -RKO-

No. The media gets ratings by scaring the hell out of us. If this is the end as we know it, why are most people worried? Especially, christians. Isn't the after life supposed to be better?

I am so worried and concerned .I don't think we have any idea as to how bad things are going to get..............I believe it is going to be a domino effect that we are all going to be feeling the pinch everywhere.............I mean that I worry that we may have to go through another great depression like family members did in the late 1920"s...........People will lose their homes, food may be rationed.............I am concerned deeply.
Uh.brainiac? What do you mean that chavez has given oil to the US poor? He certainly didn't give it to me..........where is it
You do not know of which you speak!
