Hybrids are on their way out......Ethanol will never catch on......they tried a product called gasohol about 25-30 years ago and it was burning up peoples engines. I'll stick to the fossil fuels thank you.

Given the oportunity, I would switch to a vehicle that uses ethanol. Consider that a hybrid vehicle uses a) gasoline and b) electricity, which comes from power plants that are usually also powered by fossil fuels. Ethanol can be made at home (with difficulty), and it is a renewable resource. The only problem is there would be difficulty producing enough to meet the demand. I suspect intensive hydroponic farming could make up for that, however.

being a crop farmer i know that ethanol isnt everything its made out to be by gm and others. sure its better than running gasoline but its going to end up hurting the economy worse in the long run. i completely frown on hybrid for hundreds of reasons...so until they make that h2o engine work ill be running gasoline and ethanol

Ethanol.
The hybrids need a new $5000.00 battery every 3 years. Batteries that cause more pollution that they are worth.
Ethanol is made from corn and while it offers plenty of pollution it is the lesser of the two evils.

ETHANOL. hybird uses EXTREMELY high voltages. if you get into an accident with a hybird, you are screwed.
when chevy was asked about this issue and what they would do in such case, they said "we don't know... it hasn't happened yet." YET
