A number of questions are asked by the people of other countries, relating to their country. But, some americans answer them thinking it is regarding their country. Should they not be taught Geography from the lower school level? They should have interest on other countries also.

Being Canadian watching them (there TV, news & other media) for over 33!!! They simply think they're the best. They not really taught a lot about other cultures & places (we always bug them about when they come up here) There education system is crap to a lot other countries & teacher not respect like they should be either.

When I would go down to the USA (central, top end ND, SD & etc) they wouldn't even know anything about us. I had a teacher ask me questions. It's simply sad that they like this.

Canada is a lot better than USA, but they think all types of crazy ideas about us which are simply not true. They make fun of us (Canadian) on TV, but really don't know anything about us.

I think the UN should have more power to protect the world by this type of thinking which is simply dangerous & narrow minded. I'm sick of being treated bad for no reason & I'm sure that there many other countries like that too.

the majority of people on here are American so the odds that they are answering a question posed from American are great. Maybe you should specify what country you are talking about, instead of assuming we have no interest. Granted sometimes its easier for us to tell. For example when people posting questions with dramatic incoherency's like "Should they not be taught Geography from the lower school level? " But we are not mind readers

I THINK the term for what you're talking about is "ethnocentrism," which, roughly translated, means that someone is so focused on their own country that he ignores the existence of all others. It is not, however, exclusive to Americans. Every nation has them. Also, it has nothing to do with these people not having been taught geography, or being unaware of other countries. They simply can't see past their own borders. They just exist. Be patient with them.

Since it seems like most of the people on here are from the USA, it's hard to know that you're from somewhere else when you don't tell us. Like for instance, you must not be American. Other than the question you asked, are we supposed to know that? Sorry but I can't look through my monitor and see your country. Maybe it is that you think your country is the only one anybody should know.

Well considering I'm browsing through the North American questions not the worldwide questions I think it's a reasonable mistake especially if the poster doesn't have the sense to specify a different country if he's posting in the North American section.
