im going to assume u meant to say you do NOT have a lot of $$...
know any family with an old machine? any friends?
if you are short on cash, and just need it for the basics, then you should be able to get something older and used for really cheap.
i sold a perfectly good pc for 100$ because it just wasnt up to what i needed, it was great for word processing and internet though.
if you want a more top of the line pc then look into building one yourself.
big pc companies like Dell have financing also, something else to kjeep in mind, u can get a good pc without paying a lot up front

Its a shame youre not in Houston. I saw an ad at the nearby bulletin board for $350.00, cd burner, dvd player. 512 mb ram, 1.83 ghz.. And much more. If you wanted the number I could get it for you. Thats simply all one needs. HP can also help you customize one. I really love HP's customer support.
