I have watched the PBR for a while now and have started to notice alot of the Bulls are white with black spots and black points, i.e. noes, ears, eyes. like smokeless war dance to name one in particular. I looked online for breeds and saw this english white. can anyone tell me what this breed might be used for the PBR type bulls? from what I have read they are very calm tempered bulls.

Most bucking stock are crossbreed to get the best buckers, so maybe it's a mix? Look at this website for more info, maybe the american white park? http://www.ansi.okstate.edu/breeds/cattle/

-we don't have many english white in this country, park cattle are considered a rare breed, and not likely used in the PBR

PBR bull were originally mixed breeds---at this point, you might say, "pure bucking stock" the bigger ranches keep careful records, and breed from their best.

But, lots of "Spanish stock" is largely white.
so if they started with a fair amount of Brahma, some Lineback, perhaps a little longhorn---
Some beef cattle. (i saw a white, curly-coated bull looked like he was mostly Charolais)
Some of the bulls look like Red Durham cattle, that used to be plow ox---

My mom and dad used to travel with a rodeo and Dad was in charge of feeding and taking care of the bulls after the show. They are really quiet tempered animals most of the time, the only reason they're angry in the ring being the bucking strap around their flanks. Once that comes off, they go back to quiet bulls.

most are cross bred with brahma or angus, many differnt types are used it is a long process not all bulls are meant for bucking. in the PBR they have to be bucked out somany times before they qualify to even be in the prca or pbr. and most dont make it untill they are at least 3 years old or older.
