When i say living in ignorance i mean that you are sheltered from everything bad that happens in the world. You just live out your life happily never know what has happened.

Or would you prefer to know the truth and every harsh detail about it.

I myself would prefer the truth. Which would you chose and Why?

The truth - regardless of how painful or devestating it is. You can only better yourself with the truth. ( Learn from the truth, and grow from the truth).

While some things are better left unknown,i believe that being ignorant and stupid to the truth gets u nowhere. Knowing the reality of things makes u a stronger person. I would prefer to know the truth even if it hurts rather than live my life as a lie.

The question arises: Whose truth? Whose world? Truth relevant to whom? Whose version? Veracity based upon what? What of the truth which is not deemed to be construed as harsh? Are we talking absolutism, realism, philosophy, politics, economics, morality, pragmatics, business, or what? Each individual has a different take on what they consider real; and, there is no universal measure that can adequately distill the subjective from the objective on any socially-accepted platform for the purpose of establishing a table of priority fitting to all concerns. The truth ends up being caught between "something not a lie" and "that not intentionally misleading". Add to the mix the bad information mixed with the misinformation, coupled to the mix of malice and plain innocent ignorance, and the truth becomes largely a concept achievable only in fiction... Problem is, that which we considered once to be only relegated to the realms of fiction has become a reality, ushering in a new truth. In this new age of information and knowledge and virtual reality and diversion and self-indulgence, the truth may be sacrificed for a measure of wisdom instead, leading to survival above the animal state... To be fully cognizant of all real implications without wisdom is to consign oneself to insanity; to ignore real implications is to become stupid. To deal with what is knowable and useful in a productive fashion toward the greatest good is what proves something to be a truth, and sets men free...

Ignorance is bliss. But to be in happy in life, you must be aware enough to know the truth and ignorant enough to know you cant do anything about that. Once you accept that you will be able to live through life while still knowing whats out there.

Truth. I am free and wish to remain so. The Bible says "you will know the truth and it will make you free". Blissful ignorance doesn't mean that there is nothing wrong it simply relieves you doing anything about it or feeling guilty(being responsible) Peace.

I prefer to know the truth, however I try not to let it negatively affect my life.

It's only when people know the truth that they can create positive change and prevent negative things from happening.
