When you think of an affair, what comes to your mind?

I think of passion. I think if someone has an affair it's because they may not have the passion in their relationship with their significant other. The couple could have been together for many years and the passion has just fizzled out. Or maybe their spouse isn't giving them the affection that they need so they look elsewhere. I also think of an affair as being mainly based on a sexual relationship which is another reason why I think of passion.

There is definitely Passion and Romance involved as both individuals are getting so much attention and passion from each other. 2 people not thinking about the future so much so they are living kinda freely and for the moment, sex is so good because it is wrong to do it, and you are able to do things and go places that you wouldn't normally do.
Affairs have many sides and personalities though. Usually someone is just be getting what they are missing in their marriage. = Passion
Sometimes it is more complicated as one married person is afraid to divorce for whatever reason and needs romance and attention.
The problem comes to the attachment part. It is easy to get attached, but most people are just living out their fantasies or inhibitions with each other and really aren't getting to know the real souls. That and if people are having an affair on their spouse then they are too weak to divorce. And that relationship will end sadly as most won't leave their wives/husbands. And yet the married person calls all of the shots!

I just think that if people have to do something in secret without intention of telling anyone there can't be a good ending to it.

It depends on what kind of affair I'm thinking about. When I'm dreaming of a one night stand it would be a passionate night. If I'm looking for a long term relationship it's passion and romance. When I'm thinking about getting married it's the attachment to another person, etc, etc. There are a million variations.

Well, I think of an affair, I think of someone having a relationship while in another relationship. Whether that relationship just be sexual or actual Love. So, basically it would be an attachment to another person

I think of my partner having the freedom to join in, she is free to choose if I am to have an affair or not. Having an open marriage is about the most honest thing in a relationship. Affairs are so dishonest, you should open up to your girl and give her the same freedom that you seek.

I haven't had one lately...but usually passion. Sex with someone is usually better the first couple of times the 2 of you are intimate so after you have been with your mate for a while you just need some excitement something new.

If i was to ever think of having an affair,the one thing that would come into my mind is,
How am i supposed to look my partner in the face in knowing what i have done will tear his heart to pieces.
How can i act normally infront of him with all this guilt inside me for what i have done.
How am i ever going to forgive myself.
What if he ever finds out,how can i simply say sorry while i can see him dying inside.
What kind of bloody question was this anyway,i mean,how are you supposed to friggin feel if your having sex with some one when your supposed to love your partner.
