well my mom had a crazy bf for a year. he seemed nice at first but he started to move in with us ( without telling me ) when we started to move into the army, he got wrost. he started blaming my mom about how she ruined his life. saying how she made him move from virgina and made him come with her and lose his job. he really didnt have to come he could have stayed but it was his chocie. then when we were driving down to washington dc, he yelled at my mom in the car for 5 hours!!!! then he tryed to kill my mom and him while they were in the car. then when my mom tried to kick him out he tryd to trick her into staying and it wroked! after that **** happend she kicked him out! then he came back with his mom and his sister and there were like police cars outside. even though he couldnt come back cause he was banned from the base. after that he was gone. me and my mom tried to get out lives back togather after that. so after all the signs why did she wait to the last minute?

Sometimes when women are in relationships like that their self esteem and self confidence is just too beaten down to think they are even worthy of better treatment.

ok, first off, sorry that you and your mother had to endure just things. as far as your mom waiting til the last minute, it might have been because she thought that he would do something so drastic that it would jeopardize the safety of the two of you...
maybe she thought he would change over time, when clearly it got worse...other than that, i'm clueless as to what your mom saw in this guy, to tell you the truth...(as an outsider looking in) maybe your mother likes the negative attention to make her feel better about herself...i could and might be wrong... but that's my view....

We cannot really "fly away" as soon as we have the first problem with our partner. We also think that "things will get better." Enough is enough and everybody shouldn't wait that long. Our safety comes first.
