Steady meaning that its steady... steady means constant.. like on a regular basis. Steady opposed to being unstable..understand?

Once upon a time this was said because people actually went steady! as in having a stable and solid relationship... today there are very few "steady" relationships, and so the saying has lost favour as it no longer applies to the current types of relationships people have... basically they only "go out" or "date" other people...
I recommend you learn how to "go steady" again like learning to walk before you can run.

I laff at "the olden days" I don't feel that old. LOL
When a couple went steady in the 50s & 60s, the guy usually gave his girl a ring, often his class ring and they agreed to not see any one else.
