My mom was pretty sure that annulments can be done AR, and I don't think it depends on mental state of either spouse. More like "it was a total mistake." I hope that it turns out to be an option for you!

If your husband isn't cooperating, it'll be hard to get a cheap divorce. The more time a lawyer has to spend on your case the more expensive it'll be for you.
Plus, considering the filing fee in most counties is about $150 and the process server fee is usually about another 40-50 bucks, you'll be pretty lucky to get a divorce for under $1000. Some attorneys may work on a payment plan - the best bet is to get out the phone book and call around.

An Annulment is pretty much out of the question for your situation. It only can happen when the marriage was entered to under false pretense. Say if one of the partys wasn't mentally stable. As far as a cheap divorce, good luck. I'm not sure about Arkansas but divorces are usually long drawn out expensive processes especially when one of the parties isn't cooperating.
Good Luck

I'm from the south too. I checked that out when I lived in Mississippi. I was told you had to have an annulment within 72hours or something like that.
As far as a cheap divorce...it all depends on your divorce. If he was cheating on you or beating you then your attorney can make him pay for the divorce.
That's about all I can tell you. Good luck!

I believe you can still have the marriage annulled because it's less than 3 years, but that might be different in your state. Also, legal aid should be able to help you. Look in your phone book.

Most attorneys will give you a free consult. I would try that first in some cases (depending on your reason for divorce ) the spouse has to pay legal fees.

Check out the website www.LegalZoom.com
It was created by Robert Shapiro (OJ Simpson's lawyer) and some other lawyers as a way for people to cheaply create legal documents for filing.

You need a lawyer. If you can't afford one, check with Legal Aid or the nearest Law School
