If an alternative energy source, besides OIL, was found, do you think we should all benifet from it? .................Would our differences change? Or would someone try to monopolize upon it?
Greed factors into this all, after all, are we not all a little greedy?

well, that really is an easy question, of course some one would try to monopolize it, and if it was something that couldnt be monopolized they'd try to get rid of the technology.sadly enough this has happened already, if you look up "water powered car" you will read about cases were people in one way or another where shut up about there descoveries, did these cars really run on water? no they had a transformer built into them which transformed water into hydrogen and that is what was used as fuel, the problem: no one was going to make money off of fuel because you could get the base (water) from anywhere. the first of such cars that ive found recoeds on was in the 1920's or 30's. hydrogen cars are a big thing now because they have hydrogen fuel stations, you pay for something that you could make for free.
the problem is you have to carry the explosive hydrogen, so who cares if someone gets hurt as lng as the big corps. make the money off of it

Religions came long before a need for oil. I do not think my being Christian has anything to do with an energy source. My Jewish friend's families have been Jewish for generations too. I am not greedy at all, a little vain but not greedy.

Of course, someone would try to monopolize it. And the existing oil companies would try to prove how harmful it is, and try to get it banned by law.

Some other country would figure out how to make it cheaply and cleanly, and become the new world superpower. The USA would shrink and become second-rate, like the old British Empire.
