She probably has an infection coming from the INSIDE, so no amount of topical creams will work, she needs to see her doctor, or preferably a dermatologist who can prescribe her an antiobiotic.

I used to have really bad acne. Just like your daughter i tried everything. I used proactive and it worked a little bit but I think my acne was to bad. Now the best thing that seriously works for me is benzoyl peroxide 10%. You can by it over the counter. I no this sounds to good to be true but I'm telling you it really works. There is no certain brand you have to use just make sure it is a wash that contains 10% benzoyl peroxide. The major side effect is redness and peeling but once her face gets used to it their should not be as much. She can also use a gel that she can put on after she washs her face that she can wear all day. Dryness and redness is better than acne any day in my opinion. I could go on and on about how great it was for me but i got to go to bed.

How old is your daughter? I've had acne since I was about 15...and I'm fixing to be 23. Nothing OTC even so much as helped me.. including proactive and arbonne. My dermatologist had me on some antibiotics that also didn't help and now is trying me on Yasmin (birth control) as well as a topical gel called clindamycin. Now they are leaning towards I may have PCOS....We're waiting on some tests!!! Good luck for your daughter!

Our dermatologist finally recommended Yasmin oral contraceptive for my daughter after we had tried many different OTC and prescription medications. It is the only thing that has totally worked for her, because it changed the hormonal balance in her body which was causing the acne. She has experienced no side effects with this medication...it is very mild and well tolerated by most people. Good luck.

You should go to a dermatologist instead of buying and trying all those creams which might lead to more infections and make things go worse. Not all people are responsive to OTC medications. Go to a dermatologist, maybe what she needs isn't medication, maybe it's actual treatment with all the harm you've done.

a antibiotic, but not accutane because it has been recalled. All of the cyclines will work plus the use of benzoyl peroxide 10% use three times a day. Proactiv works on some people and it has the same ingredient BP. See a Derm doc, he or she can work a treatment plan out.

my sister had the same problem from age 11-17.. after that it went away.. what worked for her is that she would go to a dermotologist and he would do this thing on her face where he would take out the bacteria from each pimple with a needle.. my sister said it was painful, but she has no more acne... it really went deep in there and got rid of all the dirt, oil, and bacteria.

The key is to keep the bacteria off the skin. She should wash two or three times a day with an antibacterial face wash. Look for the ingredient Triclosan.
