Opinions on the best way to learn to play guitar?

I know you don't want to hear it, but you really do have to put the time in if you want to be good. This isn't a bad thing if you enjoy playing, but it is a difficult journey. I recommend the book "Zen Guitar." This will get you in the right state of mind. Also, there is nothing wrong with taking classes. They will help tremendously. Try to meet people that know how to play well, this is the best thing you can do. Surround yourself with people that already know what you want to do.

I read about Jimi Hendrix. He became the world's greatest guitar player by practicing eleven hours a day. He just never put it down. He'd be making coffee, brushing his teeth, with a guitar hanging off his neck. Worked for him.

there really is no way to learn fast. there is no such thing as a natural. i play guitar, the best way to learn is... you guessed it, practice. i really recomend you buy a "guitar book for begginers. there is also a website that is really great called black belt guitar.com

unless you are a natrual which i guess i was, you can't do it. I still am not that good but i am learning, so yah. There is an internet sight for free lessons i can't recall but if you get back at me at tyrmetal@yahoo.com i can tell you, no i am not trying to get someone to email i am here for help. If you want to get good just keep an practicing.

Buy a guitar and practice everyday least 6 hours everyday and you will pick up quick

Take a few lessons. Learn some basic chords and you'll be able to play a thousand songs.

My uncle basically offered the e book Guitar for Dummies. And he practiced for various hours frequently taking place. He discovered relatively immediately. It basically takes endurance and various hardcore prepare.

Practice a lot with someone who not only knows how to play but to teach.

practice heaps.
Have a good instrument.
learn scales and music theory.
There are some very good computer programs about that make it a lot easier then when I learned.

Hi there,,,,, Welll Find out for a good teacher ear you and it is better if you join aband (klocal one of course) as they have all instruments and it is better t learn alon with them .

there is no quick way!!!!---if you are serious about learning it---be prepared to spend a very long time alone with your instrument!!(no pun intended)---i been playin since i was 13---i,m still learnin----don,t give up when you get frustrated--good things come to those who wait!!!!m (by the way--i,m 51 now!!)
