It seems no-one really talks about the pros and cons of the real issues that effect your daily lives when talking about who to vote for. Frankly, I don't ever see much of a difference. But what are the priorities here with both parties?

(And none of the old insults please i.e "Communist! Baby-killer! Nazi!")

Republicans want everyone to work hard and become rich. Hard work and investing pays off. The lazy suffer.

Democrats want hard working people to invest in fellow people and nobody gets rich, but the lazy have money and are comfortable, at the expense of others.

You are going to get a lot of venom in all of your answers. Truth is, todays Republican is not the one same one as Reagan's Republicans in the 1980's, of which I was a member. Radical right religious zealots (that's not venom, look up the words) have taken over what was once a reasonable party. The democratic party, under Bill Clinton, has moved to the middle to become the reaonable party. The extreme left of the Democratic party is very upset by the shift. Under Joe Biden, the party will regain America for those of us who still live in the moderate America of freedom of religion, speech and liberty.

New Republicans 'say' they want small gov't, but have the biggest one after controlling both branches of gov't for 6 years.

New Democrats pay for the gov't they have - (Smallest gov't since WW2 and no deficit with Bill Clinton).

New Republicans 'say' they love freedom, but work to limit freedoms, while couching ownership of rediculously deadly weapons as rights - make no distinction between Uzi's and a BB gun. New Republicans want to remake the constitution to limit religious freedoms and speech.

New Democrats support American's freedoms.

Republicans want you to think that hard work will get you rich... in reality, 80 percent of wealth is inherited in the U.S...

everyone knows that one person in the office that works like a slave and never gets anywhere, because then the boss would have to do some work... that boss is a Republican that keeps on telling the worker this line about hard work leads to wealth, just to keep him working hard...

Democrats want to at least make sure poor people can eat and have health care while they are working harder than the wealthy... how many wealthy people do you know that work 2 jobs at over 60 hours a week...I don't know any...

I know a lot of poor people that do work that much and are just barely making it...

I vote for who seems like a better leader, not who will lower taxes more. If you want a lot of change, probably vote democrat ( they are in favor of things like gay marriage and are more liberal). Otherwise, of you think that the country is fine the way it is run now, then vote republican.

Power and Control is the goal of each party. Republicans take care of the fat cats (their biggest contributors) and Democrats look out for the little guy and each form their policies to benefit their constituents.

Theoretically, their goals are a follows:

Republicans want a small, but militarily strong government, to outlaw abortion and gay marriage, lower taxes, reward the hardworking and "punish" the lazy by not giving them handouts.

Democrats want a big government, the bigger the better, think abortion and gay marriage are rights, want high taxes to pay for the huge government, to socialize our medicine and everything else they possibly can, and some (not all) think we should have peace no matter what the cost.

The priorities of both parties is to get re-elected. Period. None of them gives a ratsass about you or your needs, just your vote.

Power and money. There is not much difference between them, as they are both Americans first, politicians second and human beings third.
