no he did not became a chuunin. because he left with jiraiya for 2.5 years all the other genin became chuunin beside naruto (who was still a genin) neji(who became a jonin) temari (who was also a jonin)kankuro(jonin like his sis) and gaara (became the kezakage)and sasuke because he left.
the picture was made up in naruto's head.i saw that episode

Naruto is still a Genin, but he will soon have power enough to defeat damn near any Jounin in the village. His chakra at the moment is 2 times more than Kakashi's and it could be 100 times more if Yamato keeps the Kyuubi in check. AND his unltimate jutsu he's developing... damn.

no everytime he has tried to go out for the chuunin exam something happens.he hasn't become hokage yet either,but the manga comes out in english every friday on http://www.coolccc.net

No... he hasn't been promoted yet... although he's skills is the same level as a jounin... and he's been doing missions that only chuunins and jounins can do...
