Anything less than a week(7 days) of time only requires a permit which you get there at the border. If you're only going to border and no further you really don't need anything but your birth certificate to come back into the U.S. They will not force you to get the permit for seven days which costs $20 and you will only need it to go further into Mexico you should be fine. Be careful good luck.

Nah, probably not. The guards at Tijuana don't care. I was in California a couple years ago and we drove down to Tijuana just for a couple hours and on the way back, there was only one guard for all three or four lanes into the U.S. He just looked at us, asked what we did there and let us go. Just bring your green card and everything anyway just in case.

Why are you going to Tijuana anyway? It's a pretty sleazy place... Don't go after dark!! Seriously. As soon as we drove across the border there was some drunk guy pissing on a building and a prostitute hooking up with some guy on a corner. The whole couple hours we were there, we were scared to get out of the car. It's NOTHING like the rest of Mexico (no blue waters and white beaches or anything). If you have anything expensive or valuable (jewelry, large amounts of cash, credit cards, etc), leave them at home!!!!

it is like right here in CA, in case you stress unevenly you would be stopped. Ensenada is approximately an hour stress from TJ. ultimate suggestion is that in case you do not have a license, do no longer stress. If the Mexican government do no longer capture you, US Customs will. each vehicle is stopped on the border coming back.

You don't need a visa. They may make you fill out an extra form, but I doubt it. Bring your card, though, if you're at all Hispanic looking or they might not let you back home.

~*~ i don't believe that you do.. be smart though.. contact your local INS office or your immigration attorney if you have one.. you don't want to get yourself into a bad situation.. leave the country and not be able to get back in... i'm sure it will all work out.. just be careful.. ~*~
