one of the reasons (there are many!) that there is more skin cancer today than ever is that people falsely believe that applying sunscreen (or higher SPF) means they can stay in the sun longer!

all tans and all burns indicate sun damage. there is no "healthy" tan.

Kevin T. is a moron. He would not know a cure if it hit him in the head. Cancer is a complex issue. Risk factors for skin cancer include only one good sunburn in your lifetime. Keep using sunscreen, it may save your life. And be familiar with what a cancerous mole would look like and if you ever see a suspicious mole on you or someone else, make sure it gets checked.

I read and heard about this claim as well. I try to use natural products because I think when you use too many chemicals for years something could go wrong eventually. About Kevin T. I have his book and it is the most frustrating book to read. Everytime it gets interesting he refers you to his website which, you have to pay for. The guy is a jerk.

there is more cancer now because people go to tanning beds & think that putting on SPF 8 once all day is ok... or they dont reapply it after swimming or working outdoors....people also live longer.
there are mineral (zinc oxide based) sunscreens instead of PABA sunscreens if you are concerned about chemicals

I can't help but wonder, but choose physical barrier style sunblocks vs. chemical barriers.
