do you know how to disconnect a firewall?

Question

when i try to go to lime wire, or bear share, or yahoo messenger, ot wont sign in cuz firewall, so i wana disconnect it, i tried going to control pannel, firewall turned of, but still when i go to lime wire it says theres a firewall.

so i wana disconnect it, do you know how?

dont come to tell me what to do with the programs, i just want to get the firewall out, yea i know fire walls portect your comp. but i wana get it out,

If you're running Windows XP, you should have a security icon in your tray with firewall controls. Leaving the firewall off is an invitation to trouble, though. Better option is to use your firewall options to grant access to the programs you want.

If you right click it in the tray there should be a drop down menu to turn it off, if not why not delete it you can always get one that works.
