do u think that directors prefer a person that has gone to college and have a degree in theatre or a freash young actor that just graduated from high schl

It certainly can't hurt to get more education and expirience. You can go on auditions at the same time.

It totally depends on what kind of show you're auditioning for. There are shows that need young people-- younger than the 22 or 23 that most people are when they finish college. In those cases directors and casting people are not necessarily looking for a lot of training. If you're thinking of a career in acting, I'd recommend looking for some sort of training-- either in a college or some sort of conservatory or studio program. Many professional theatres offer short term training programs also. In the end, casting people very rarely look at an actors background specifically to see what training they have. The training shows up in your audition, which is what you gets you roles.

They prefer the actor who can give them what they want when they want it. A college degree may get you an audition if it's from a prestigious drama school, but an audience won't care if you have a degree and neither will the director.

i think as long as your acting skills are good and you fit the character these things should not matter much.
