Personally i think there are alot of people out there that do deserve the death penalty for multiple reasons.

Think about this crime that was commited.
( True Story )
A little girl was asked by a child molestor to go into his house to see his new puppies. She was such a innocent thing so she went in. WHen she did the man began to attack her and rip all her clothing off. He brutally rape the little girl and while he was doing that he was also slamming the poors girls head against a drawer. When he was done he knew he couldn't let her live so he put a plastic bag around the girls head and strangled her to death. He put her in the back of his trunk and then before he threw he into a lake he sexually assulted her body once again while she was dead...

IF YOU ARE TELLING ME that someone like this doesn't deserve the dealth penalty, ( which he did ) your pretty messed up yourslef.

People do things that are beyond humanity and calling someone like the guy who killed the little girl an animal wouldn't even be enough. Even animals as stupid as they are know not to do that.

So in conclusion, i feel like the death penalty should be upheld.

If you think differently add a detail why.

I don't know...and here's why:
There are crimes for which the death penalty is appropriate. In fact in this regard I'm in favor of the death penalty for more than just murder. i believe child molesters should get death. I believe anyone who commits an act of extreme cruelty which doesn't result in death of the victim should still get the death penalty....example..there was a guy who kidnapped a woman, raped her repeatedly tied her up in the back seat of her car, stabbed her eyes out with an ice pick, squirted her with lighter fluid and set her on fire...she lived. There should be no question that animal deserved to die.
My only reservation is the numbers of people in the last few years who have been convicted of crimes, sent to prison, only to have DNA evidence prove them innocent years later.
You can monetarily compensate an innocent person who spends time in prison but it's kind of hard to do when they're dead. Executing an innocent person is an unacceptable risk. I think if one was proved guilty not just beyond a reasonable doubt, but with no doubt, then some definately deserve it.

Well the United States leaves it up to the individual states on whether they allow the death penalty. I see no problem with the way it is. If a state has a population that does/doesn't support it then it has/doesn't have the death penalty based on the support for it.

And for the people that said that we shouldn't let the prisoners sit in jail on our tax dollars, it costs more to execute someone than to house them for an extended period of time.

You say that until someone kills your family or loved ones.

I would like to see the death penalty for rapists, child molesters, and drug dealers found with large amounts of drugs. If the evidence was there beyond a shadow of a doubt and had more than two witnesses, the penalty should be carried out in less than two weeks after conviction. To hell with appeals.

People like the idea of a death penalty because the media only broadcasts stories about crazy murderers lurking behind bushes. In reality most murders are crimes of passion between husband and wife or girlfriend /boyfriend .....about 90% of all capital crimes are just couples , hot under the collar with a gun closeby. Like the one attorney said "she killed her husband, she has no reason to kill anybody else".

Hell NO!!! They need to put a fast lane in. Every state in the Union should have the death penalty. I'm sorry but if you kill someone you deserve to die the same way they did. An eye for and eye, the ways justify the means. You don't deserve to breathe my oxygen anymore. And it does not cost more money for them to die, we did a study on it in my political culture class.

NO!!! I think we should be using it more often instead of housing these sickos for years all at taxpayers expense! Exactly where is the justice in that?

I understand it is horrible that innocent people are found guilty of crimes and sentenced to death, but I still feel if we had harsher and more swift punishments then maybe it would help stop the rise in crime.

No, some people did some really horrible things like murder or rape, n we can't have people like that living in america. It's just a way 2 keep us safe.U could always pay bail or somethin 2 get out of jail, but u can't get back on the streets if they kill u.

under the form, the states reserve rights to themselves that the federal government does not have. So- the respond on your question is relatively 50 solutions. (fifty one in case you desire to comprise Puerto Rico.) The loss of existence penelty is a state-by capacity of-state subject. uncertain whilst all 50 might have an analogous regulation on the topic of this component of offender regulation. comments with regard to the scale of time (and the concomitant expenditures) it takes to execute somebody are apropos, yet are evaluations, no longer information. must be so, because of the fact the genuinely value of incarceration as against execution might desire to be subjectively interpreted. ... Take care!!

I say keep it. Why not? First if you knew that it was a possible consequence don't you think you would think twice about what you are doing? Second, if you say that it's murder then maybe we should take guns away from cops so they don't shoot the bad guys when they try to get away or threaten his life(the cops life). Third, just be thankful we don't hang people for stealing our horses anymore. If you take a little you have to give a little. You take a life you give yours sounds good to me. Now about it costing more than housing them for years. Well, maybe we need to do it sooner that way we don't house them and kill them.
