You're confused.
You are thinking of the Mayan Long Count calendar end date of 12-21-2012. This is the date of a grand astronomical alignment which takes place at DAWN (not midnight) where the sun rises against a certain section of the Milky Way. This alignment only happens every 26,000 years and precedes a new world age.

I'm thinking that should be Aztec Standard Time, but the time would be whenever an Aztec day ends - might not be midnight. Basically what happens is that all computers whose internal clocks are based on the Aztec calendar are going to reset to 0 - it could be ugly.

I never knew that 12/12/12 was anything special. I know there was some people who freaked out June 6th of this year 6/6/06, I guess us sinners were supose to go to h*ll

It was my understanding that it was 4 PM, and I would assume it would be EST, as that is the time zone of the Maya who predicted the end of the fifth sun on that date.
